Amourgis & Associates, Attorneys at Law Sponsors Successful A Christmas Story Event for Alzheimer’s Association
Amourgis & Associates, Attorneys at Law sponsored a charity event to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter on December 17 and 18, 2022. Actor Zack Ward who played the bully, Scut Farkus, in the movie A Christmas Story and the recent sequel, A Christmas Story Christmas, met with fans, signed autographs, and took pictures to raise money for the charity.
The owner of Amourgis & Associates, Attorneys at Law, Julius Amourgis, and Zack are long-time friends and organized this event to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s. Zack’s father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s in 2020, and he and Amourgis & Associates, Attorneys at Law are working to spread awareness, get people resources and information in their time of need, and raise some money to find a cure.
On Saturday, December 17, Zack signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans at the A Christmas Story house in Cleveland. The actual house that appears in the 1983 film as Ralphie Parker’s house has been restored and renovated to appear inside and outside as it did in the film and is currently a tourist attraction and museum. The museum and three other buildings make up a complex devoted to the movie.

Hundreds of people came Saturday to meet Zack and take pictures. They dressed up in their pink bunny suits and brought their leg lamps and other memorabilia to get signed. Zack took time to meet and speak to every fan and to relive their memories of the movie.
On Sunday, December 18, Zack hosted a screening of the sequel, A Christmas Story Christmas, at the Highland Theater in Akron. Zack met with fans and signed autographs before answering questions about the movie and filming. As the movie is currently only streaming on HBO Max, you can say that this was the Northeastern Ohio premiere!

Amourgis & Associates, Attorneys at Law, and Zack donated all the proceeds of these events to the Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter. We were able to raffle off signed Red Ryder BB Guns to some lucky attendees that enjoyed their “Major Award.” We are excited about the success of this year’s event and already have some new plans for 2023’s event!
